Savona, Piazza Mameli. Everyday at 6 pm the whole square stops: the bell of the “Monument of the Fallen” rings 21 times, one for each letter of the Italian alphabet, and all the traffic stops. In this way, listing all the 21 letters, the intention is to remember all the fallen in all the wars that have involved the city. This scene is unique in the world, a ritual that unites all the inhabitants of Savona and that cannot fail to arouse the curiosity of tourists.
