The ski season has officially started in Italy! In fact, with the so-called "Attila", cold winds from the north have brought a brutal change of temperature throughout the country. The Alps were the first mountains to be reached by the change: there, the snow is falling at medium altitudes, especially in the border areas.
Regarding the best locations where to go skiing, Trentino is one of the region where the most talented athletes were born and raised. Winter sports are very popular, such as at the Dolomiti Superski, which has 12 ski zones and 1200km of slopes, both for well trained skiers and new ones.
Another populare place is Cervinia, which opens at the end of October, whil the Passto Stelvio has a ski area at 2760m altitude, the highest bottom lift in Europe, with 700m of vertical between it and the lift at 3450.
